Long Bio

For event websites and detailed profiles

Molly Varangkounh is a keynote speaker, author, and leadership advisor who helps business leaders understand the story their business is telling them so they can make clear, confident decisions when the stakes are high and the path forward feels uncertain.

After more than two decades leading a family-owned manufacturing business, Molly understands firsthand what it means to carry full responsibility for people, performance, and outcomes. She served as President, accountable for the P&L, total business performance, and the decisions that determined the company's future. An accountant by education with CFO-level experience, she offers rare technical fluency paired with executive judgment.

Molly navigated growth pressure, operational complexity, succession dynamics, and emotionally charged decisions where business outcomes and personal relationships were deeply intertwined. She led through uncertainty, resistance, and change in male-dominated industries including agriculture and manufacturing, where clarity, credibility, and decisiveness were non-negotiable.

What makes Molly different from most speakers in this space is that she did not study family businesses from the outside. She was inside one as a family member. She was the CFO and the daughter. The President and the person at the dinner table. That specific combination of financial fluency, executive authority, and family belonging is not something that can be credentialed or trained. It is lived.

Today, Molly brings that lived leadership experience into her speaking and advisory work. She serves as a steady, trusted guide for leaders facing the challenges that keep them up at night, creating the space for them to face reality honestly, ask the hard questions, and move forward with clarity, confidence, and a renewed sense of steadiness. She holds the Certified Exit Planning Advisor (CEPA) and Certified Family Business Advisor designations.

Molly is the creator of the B.O.L.D. Leadership Framework and the author of the upcoming memoir "Me & Steve," a raw, personal account of succession from the inside. She is based in the Midwest and speaks nationally at conferences, leadership events, family business associations, and executive retreats.
